Hayley Louisa Brown

Photographer, Director

Hayley Louisa Brown is a British photographer, creative director, and founder of the influential BRICK Magazine, established in 2015. Known for her raw, analogue-driven aesthetic and bold, character-driven portraiture, Hayley’s work blends documentary energy with editorial styling, often shooting on film and hand-tinting images to create a tactile, grain-rich finish. Her portraits are defined by strong personality, visceral eye contact, and a cinematic sense of atmosphere.

BRICK, a biannual print publication championing hip-hop culture, has become a respected platform within the global music and arts communities, showcasing photographers, artists, and musicians while challenging conventional representations within the genre.

Alongside photography, Hayley directs film projects, bringing the same bold, narrative-driven approach to moving image. Her work spans music, fashion, and editorial commissions, capturing youth culture and subcultural style with a confident, contemporary edge. Her artistic projects, including the Children of Graceland series, have received recognition from the Ace & Tate Creative Fund, highlighting her thoughtful exploration of culture and portraiture.
